CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: USIP's Generation Change Fellows Program Philippines

The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) is pleased to announce the call for applications to its Generation Change Fellows Program in the Philippines.


USIP is looking for the Philippine youth's participation (ages 18-35), especially those who have demonstrated experience in peacebuilding and are interested in participating in a 5-day training on:

  • Prejudice awareness and reduction;

  • Effective leadership; and

  • Conflict transformation in the Philippines


The Program will be held in February 2023. The selection process and training itself will be conducted in English. The deadline for applications will be on 13 November at 11:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

About the Generation Change Fellows Program Philippines


USIP will train emerging peacebuilders from the Philippines in prejudice awareness and reduction, effective leadership, and conflict management in order to increase the resilience and impact of young leaders on their respective communities. The training will provide a space for participants to share ideas, gain new tools, practice constructive conversations, and better understand conflict management, especially as it relates to their country.

Upon completing the training, participants will join Generation Change’s global community of emerging civic leaders and will have access to various resources provided by USIP.


USIP will pay for participant airfare, lodging, meal, and visa expenses.

Training Location: Philippines. (Exact location is to be determined).

Tentative Program Dates: 23-28 February, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be Filipino.

  • Must currently live and work in the Philippines.

  • Must be 18-35 years old.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

  • Must have founded a peacebuilding organization or have worked in a leadership role in an organization that does peacebuilding work for at least 3 years.

  • Must possess a willingness to participate and learn from peers and facilitators.

  • Must be able to travel and fully commit to the program between 23-28 February 2023. These dates may change depending on restrictions related to COVID-19.

  • Must have a valid ID to travel.
